How we review AI interior design tools
Our comparisons separate verifiable product facts, hands-on observations, and editorial judgment so readers can see what is known, what was tested, and where our ownership creates a bias.
Ownership disclosure
AI Smart Decor is built by Hasnain Syed. It is included in many of the comparisons on this site, so those articles are not independent reviews. We disclose that relationship near the start of comparison content and name competitors that are a better fit for particular jobs.

Official-source verified
The fact comes from the product's current website, pricing page, help centre, app listing, or terms. Time-sensitive facts include a checked date.

Editorial assessment
A clearly identified judgment about who a tool suits. It is not presented as a measured fact or converted into a numeric score.
Our hands-on test protocol
When a guide says products were tested head to head, we use the same source rooms and the closest available settings for every product. A typical photo-redesign test includes a furnished living room, an empty bedroom, and a kitchen with fixed architectural details.

Use the same unedited source photo for every tool.
- 2.
Choose the closest shared style or use the same plain-language prompt.
- 3.
Generate at least three outputs before judging variability.
- 4.
Record login requirements, free allowance, watermark, output dimensions, and elapsed generation time.
- 5.
Review fixed geometry, furniture scale, lighting, artifacts, and style fidelity.
- 6.
Keep screenshots or notes for any measurement quoted in the article.
If a page does not publish this test evidence, its comparison should be read as official-source research and editorial guidance, not a controlled performance benchmark.
Scoring rules
We do not publish a numeric score unless the criteria, weights, and underlying observations are visible on the page. Otherwise, we use practical labels such as “best for floor plans” or “best for quick inspiration” and explain the trade-off.
Updates and corrections
Pricing, free allowances, and product features change often. We date material reviews, link to official product pages where possible, and invite corrections at hello@mentign.com.
